Avid PCI Film & Media Composer 9000 XL (Mac G4)
Our Media / Film Composer 9000 Meridian XL's are the highest quality available outside of one of our Symphony Systems. The system is based on resolutions and has Finishing Resolutions of 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1. Offline Resolutions of 10:1 and 20:1. Single-field Finishing Resolutions 2:1s and 4:1s. Standard Progressive Offline resolutions of 14:1, 28:1 and 35:1. Standard Single Field Offline Resolution of 15:1s. Multicam Interlaced Resolution of 4:1m and 10:1m. Multicam Progressive Resolutions of 3:1m and 8:1m.

The system features Interframe editing, 24fps editing and picture tracks, Multicam Grouping, 16:9 support, Filmscribe / Matchback, 32 bit QuickTime Codec with alpha channel. PVW 2800 Beta SP Deck, CD reader / writer, Zip & Floppy. 10.5 software, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Boris Red Bundle.

Additional storage can be added as well as alternative decks integrated into the system, such as, Digi-beta, DV, DVCam & DVCPro are available. Avid Technical support is standard with all system rentals.

The ultimate finishing solution editing system. "Total Conform". The Symphony is for the production that has been cut off-line and needs to be brought up to higher resolutions, including 1:1 for broadcast. More and more cable giants such as Discovery, History Channel and all the networks are accepting products finished only the Symphony as a non-linear source. The Symphony provides a new non-linear approach to color correction, with a 10-bit, real-time scene to scene color correction engine, efficient source correction capabilities, a broad advanced toolset, and "smart" features such as Natural Match and SafeColor.

And versioning in a tape suite is like starting from scratch every time - so versioning is one of the big reasons people are switching to nonlinear finishing. Capabilities such as Pan + Scan for creating 4x3 and 16x9 content, or 24P Universal Editing and Mastering, which allows you to output multiple formats from a single master and eliminates the need for a standards converter, help you to produce multiple formats quickly.

PCI Media Composer 1000
Our most popular system, the PCI Media Composer 1000, is a broadcast quality tool with video resolutions, AVR's 3s, 12, 70, 71, 75, & 77. Most of its effects and transitions are reel-time. We recommend it for almost everyone who is doing a non-film project and does not need the added features of the 9000. Pinnacle 3-D effects are standard on this system along with a DAT machine CD player, 888 Audio, Zip and Floppy. This system has Serial Digital 4:2:2, Composite and Component (Y, R-Y, B-Y), and S-Video, video in/out. The system runs on the MAC 9500 and 9600 CPU's with AVID 7.1v2 software. Thirty-six (36) gigabytes of storage come with the system in Fast and Wide Mediadock configuration. The system includes a PVW 2800 Beta SP deck.
