National Association of Convenience Stores

Las Vegas , NV . -- Whether you are interested in candy bars or car washes, it's on display at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) annual convention. Not only is the NACS convention one of the top 50 largest conventions in America , it boasts over 1,400 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees. For the last 5 years, NACS & CSP Magazine chose STERLING PRODUCTIONS/Tempe, AZ to provide a video news programming for each of the three days of the show. The daily program airs on the show floor and on a continuous loop in 5,000 hotel rooms.

An enormous project to start with, Sterling Productions Owner/Executive Producer Kim Walton, a veteran of corporate and commercial productions, found the challenge somewhat exhilarating and astonishing at the same time. “We had 3 camera operators working the floor and 3 AVIDs set up in the convention center”, said Walton. “the amount of news within the convenience store industry remarkable”.

Sterling Productions used their digital Sony cameras to maintain a pure digital video process and accomplished a seamlessly tapeless digital shoot and edit by digitizing the recorded material directly into the AVIDs for editing, color correction, and compositing which encompassed the 3D Pinnacle Effects and 24x24 layering aspects of the AVID software. Post-production went around the clock to complete each day's program.
