The Rhythm Room in Phoenix, Arizona hosted a Blues Piano Extravaganza. The event featured Floyd Dixon and band with special guest performances by Pinetop Perkins, Henry Gray, Kid Ramos, Kim Jones, and Fred Kaplan. These pioneers of an original American music genre have been performing “the blues” with artists such as, B. B. King, Ray Charles, and Muddy Waters. Combined they have well over 200 years of experience playing in the smoky clubs of New Orleans bars to modern Jazz Festivals.
Highjohn Records LLC contracted John Gibson of Wave Base Productions to produce a Video and DVD of the event and preserve the legendary blues artists' performances. Sterling Productions was contracted to shoot and edit the video to be used for the production. “I can count on Kim”, said John Gibson. All involved with the production were impressed with the on-site attention to detail and remote production package. He said it was a “Sterling” performance from the entire crew.
“It was amazing to see these guys perform”, said Kim Walton of Sterling Productions, “We brought in a 4 camera package with a switched feed and 4 ISO's to Beta SP. There is more than 30 hours of footage so it should be a remarkable documentary”.
When future generations of “rock n rollers” want to see where it all began, this DVD will help preserve our national musical heritage and pay homage to the legends that started it all.Contact Sterling Productions
